A SINGLE SPECTACULAR
An exhibition and sale of paintings by renowned architect and ‘master of water colour’ – William J. Rush
We are delighted to extend the Willian Rush Exhibition online, so there is still time to explore this extraordinary collection.
Whether you are drawn to the majestic scenes of Hawke's Bay's iconic poplars, the natuire inspired "Native Foliage" series, or something more whimsical like the Moonlit Scarecrow, there's something for everyone.
William J. Rush
William J. Rush is a renowned architect and painter, having designed many private homes and buildings around Hawke’s Bay including Iona College, Heretaunga School (now Hereworth), Woodford House, St Luke’s Church and the Hawke’s Bay Herald Tribune and printing buildings. He was born in Northamptonshire, England in 1872 before voyaging to New Zealand in the early 1900s where he spent the majority of his life.
Iona College and Hereworth School are incredibly grateful to have received such a generous donation of paintings from the Rush family, and we hope you will join us to view them in all their glory.
