LEARNING IN HAWKE’S BAY

A magnificent environment

Iona College is an all-girls school in Hawke’s Bay. This region has stunning geography, phenomenal climate with long hot summers and cool winters, talented people, a rich history, a vibrant economy, and a friendly and culturally diverse community.

From school, girls can take a short, easy stroll to shops, cafes and movie theatres in the vibrant village of Havelock North – voted New Zealand’s most beautiful suburb 2017.

A magnificent school

Iona College was founded in 1914 and has a rich history. Until 1988 it was exclusively boarding. Today, boarders comprise 60% of the school roll and day girls 40%.

The school is situated in 27 acres of park like grounds. There are extensive playing fields, netball and tennis courts, a fitness studio as well as a sports centre and swimming pool. We have purpose built facilities for art, photography, design, technology and music.

The award-winning Information Resource Centre and The Blyth Performing Arts Centre are state-of-the-art buildings, designed to enhance our girls’ learning environment. These are magnificent spaces to learn in and perform in.
